Blue crab, also known as green crab or delicious swimming crab, is a general term for crustacean decapod. Common edible crab of western Atlantic; delicious. It is a crustacean distributed in the western Atlantic Ocean, the southern Indian Ocean of Australia, the Pacific coast of Central America and the Gulf of Mexico. After mating, the females migrate to the southern Chesapeake Bay to fertilize their eggs with sperm from the males. In November or December, the female crab releases her eggs.
